On the 24 Tuesday of April 2012 in unit 21 we learnt how to designed forms. Forms will be needed in our website as everyone will be designing one such as checkout or some over page to enter details of the customer. We designed the forms on komodo edit; we learnt how to have a password box, checkbox, tick box and a box to enter details. 

On the 2012-04-25 we should have had a lesson on unit 4, however the teacher notified the class beforehand telling us that the lesson was cancelled.

Changes to the Implementation in the project plan had to be made as we had to have a lesson on the last column layout which we didn't have due to the teacher being ill and absent. This means I will have to move the implementation starting date forward. Which also mean I will have lesson time to create my website.

Within the group with have had some discussions on things we are doing together and individually.  At the moments we all should be designing independently a project specification that takes into account the needs of the stakeholder; we will show evidence of this by individual group member project.

On the project specification I will be clearly pointing out the dates in which the project will be finishing adding the earliest time it could finish and at the latest time.

after half term

When we come back from holidays we will start designing our websites. This will have been done before, but due to incidents we had to postpone it. This will be shown on the project plan how we had to change the dates.

I will be designing a PowerPoint slideshow outlining overall project specification also individual group member project specification.

column layouts

In unit 21 we started looking at how to design columns. we have created 1 column layouts, 2 column layouts and 3 column layouts. This will help a lot when designing are real website which we will be adding columns to add professionalism and better quality website.

updates on the project plan

Due to occurring accidence, we have had to push the deadlines two weeks ahead. This has happened because of many strikes happening, and also because of students missing about in lesson.

Moving the deadlines forward will make it harder for me and the team to get all the distinctions we need and want. We will have to move not only the final deadline but also the other deadlines, such as giving the team presentations.

I will have to change my project plan dates that I designed on project management.

"Adam and Anthony’s site maps both work correctly and include benefits such as all the pages being linked together, but I feel that they look messy, which means that it is hard to distinguish what is happening on them. I have tried to make my design clearer and flow well which I believe is very important when trying to justify how a website should run."

One similarity between each of our site maps is that they give the user the ability to access every page from the index page. This is a vital aspect to consider when creating a website as it is very important to make sure that the user can always access the page that they are looking for as soon as they enter the website.

Another similarity that every member of the group has tried to achieve is the 3 click rule. This means that the consumer will be able to find what they are searching for on the site within a maximum of three clicks. This ensures efficiency and makes a website look and feel more professional.

By taking all the best aspects from each of our designs we have decided on a final site map which ensures that all the pages are connected together whilst being clear and distinguishable.
