visio site map

toms site map

Tom added
"Adam and Anthony’s site maps both work correctly and include benefits such as all the pages being linked together, but I feel that they look messy, which means that it is hard to distinguish what is happening on them. I have tried to make my design clearer and flow well which I believe is very important when trying to justify how a website should run."

One similarity between each of our site maps is that they give the user the ability to access every page from the index page. This is a vital aspect to consider when creating a website as it is very important to make sure that the user can always access the page that they are looking for as soon as they enter the website.
Another similarity that every member of the group has tried to achieve is the 3 click rule. This means that the consumer will be able to find what they are searching for on the site within a maximum of three clicks. This ensures efficiency and makes a website look and feel more professional.

By taking all the best aspects from each of our designs we have decided on a final site map which ensures that all the pages are connected together whilst being clear and distinguishable.

final sitemap

This is my group’s final sitemap. We designed it on word as we thought it would be the easiest and the faster way. Designing it on Visio made sense as the diagram is all vector graphic format. This format can be enlarged in any size and it won’t change because the pixels are coordinated to the program.
We looked at everyone’s sitemap and decided as a group that my Visio sitemap was the best and will be our final site map.

Tom said that the way in which all the necessary pages link together was good and he also added that on his sitemap he forgot to link the homepage to the accounts page. He also said that it is well organized and can be understood easily.

Anthony also agreed with what tom and with additional input saying that his sitemap didn’t have all the pages linked together and didn’t look as clear to understand as mine.

We choose this site map as our final site map because as you see all pages are linked together and is clearly shown how each page will link together and how all our 5 pages will join together aswell.

project management software

Microsoft project is used as a scheduling and project management tool by being able to apply and create critical path schedules, critical chain, event chain methodology and Gantt charts. It’s designed to help project managers develop plans and projects, managing time, budget, analysing workload and tracking each task down and how long each task should and will be done by. This program is normal called project management software program. This program can also save records of what and who should look at the project. For example a manager of the organisation can have full access to the project but a simple worker can be granted access to only one stage or two.

I decided to pick Hyperoffice and my other piece of project planning software. This company is based in America and was funded during 1998-2000. This company now has around 300,000 customers worldwide. Some of the management tools used in this software are creating and track projects using group numbers and project names, task dependencies. This is for complex projects which you can import, export, and sync tasks to and from spreadsheet program such as Excel, you can also synch tasks form mobile devices and interactive Gantt charts displaying project milestones. These tools help the organisation be able to use web collaboration, online meeting, web conferencing, online database and email marketing applications easier and without going through too much trouble.
